Cesol

Everybody needs to know a handyman. Whether the people in the village wanted to know Cesol is another matter. Cesol is a dwarf inventor, and a rather insane one at that. He lives and works out of a small lab in the village, working on odd steam-driven machines day and night.

Cesol's sleep schedule has been disrupted so many times in the past by his tendency to work for days on end without sleep (Not to mention being knocked out by his contraptions when they don't work right) that the villagers wonder if he ever sleeps. In fact, given the noises and occasional explosion from his lab, they worry about it. He doesn't remember much about his past, even as far as how old he is. Everyone just assumes he's rather old, even by dwarf standards, and that's all that concerns them.

However, what Cesol lacks in basic sanity he makes up for with genius. He's managed to devise rather intricate machines to take care of his lab for him so he doesn't have to, he can fix nearly anything that the villagers bring him, and he's always anxious to test out his new contraptions. That last one is what usually leads people into trouble. Though his experiments are usually less dangerous than Alex's miscast spells, he's far more likely to just blindly go ahead and try something with little regard for his own personal safety or that of anyone nearby.

First appearance: September 4, 2002 (Storyline: "Opening Statements")
